How the LinkedIn post ranker works

Rules-based, not AI, so the score is consistent. It rates five dimensions:

  • Hook — does the first line earn the click on “see more”.
  • Value — is there a real idea, not just motivation.
  • Readability — short lines and white space, not a wall of text.
  • CTA — one clear reason to comment, save or reply.
  • Virality — the ingredients that make a post travel in the feed.

It also suggests a stronger hook and the specific fixes to lift the weakest dimension.

A worked example

A post that opens “Here are my thoughts on sales…” scores low on hook and readability. Swap the first line for “I lost a $40k deal because of one word in my follow-up.” and break the body into one-line paragraphs, and hook, readability and virality all climb.

What is a good LinkedIn post score?

80+ posts reliably. 60–79 usually has one soft spot, often the hook. Below 60 is normally a weak first line or a wall of text, both cheap to fix before you publish.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ranker score a LinkedIn post?+

Five rules-based dimensions: hook, value, readability, call to action and virality. It also suggests a stronger hook and specific fixes. No AI, so the score is consistent.

What is a good LinkedIn post score?+

Posts scoring 80 or higher tend to perform. Below 60 usually means a weak hook or a wall-of-text that does not skim well in the feed.

What makes a strong hook?+

A specific first line built on curiosity or tension that still reads well when the feed truncates it after a line or two.

Does it use AI or cost anything?+

No AI, and it is free, one run per email.
